CFO| Revolutionary AI Drug Design Biotech | Hybrid (Boston Or NYC)
Harmonic is excited to be working with a well-funded Biotech who's an early pioneer in the AI drug design space. This businesses revolutionary platform is transforming drug discovery by implementing generative AI into each step along the drug discovery process. With a senior leadership team sharing a united "patient first" philosophy to drug discovery, the team is advancing programs in the clinic across multiple different targets/therapeutics areas.
With an IPO on the horizon, this company is looking to embark on the next chapter in it's development. With recent exciting strategic partnerships being struck and continued development of their own internal pipeline, this business is taking full advantage of the advancements in AI.
The Role:
As the company enters this exciting next chapter in their development, they are looking for an exceptional CFO to help steer the strategy of the company and own the entire finance function. Working hand in hand with the CEO to lay the foundation for future success, the CFO will overlook FP&A, Accounting, Investor Relations, and some more general operational responsibilities as well. This role will be responsible for taking the company through the IPO process as well as play a hand in the strategic efforts on the BD side of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CEO to plan both short and long-term strategies
- Help establish IPO preparedness
- Spearhead the IPO process
- Communicate effectively with investors and board members
- Foster relationships with the leadership team and implement key performance indicators for better decision-making
- Improve budgeting and forecasting procedures as the company progresses
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, tax regulations, and other requirements
- Seek area's for operational improvement
- Build, train, and guide a capable finance team
- Partake in BD activity with regard to strategic partnership and out-licensing opportunities
What We Need:
- Prior experience in a VC backed startup
- Prior experience in successfully taking a private biotech public
- Prior CFO experience
- Prior BD/Deal experience (particularly on the sell side)
- Excellent communicator
- Commercially astute
