We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Healthcare Assistant to join our fast-paced dermatology office. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a specialized team in Mohs/Reconstructive surgery, as well as assist with general dermatology clinic and procedures. Key Responsibilities:

• Mohs Surgery Assistance: Help process tissue samples in the lab and prepare for examination. Support the reconstruction surgeon during closures following skin cancer removal, ensuring a smooth, efficient surgical process. Maintain equipment and chemicals in the MOHS lab.
• Patient Care & Rooming: Assist with rooming patients, taking vitals, and preparing them for their procedures. Provide comfort and care, ensuring an excellent patient experience.
• Surgical Support: Assist during dermatology procedures, including biopsies, excisions, and other minor surgeries.
• Clinical Support: Perform routine duties like taking vitals, preparing patients for exams, assisting with diagnostic and treatment procedures, and managing patient charting and documentation.
• Sterilization & Equipment Management: Ensure proper sterilization techniques and assist in setting up and maintaining equipment and exam rooms. Ensure proper care, sterilization and packaging of instruments.
• Administrative Duties: Support general office functions including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, and handling lab/test results. Processing patient’s enrollment paperwork and assisting patient with obtaining their biologic medication. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA and CLIA regulations.
• Inventory Management: Help manage and stock exam room supplies to ensure a smooth, organized workflow.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a medical office (preferably dermatology or surgery-related).
• Strong understanding of medical office operations, including patient care, sterilization, and surgical assistance (preferred).
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members in a professional, friendly, and patient-focused manner.
• Knowledge of medical instruments, diagnostic procedures, and equipment.
• Proficiency in EMR systems (1 year preferred) and familiarity with medical record keeping. Epic preferred.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to a variety of roles within the office.
• For the right person, we will train with limited experience.
