Harmony At Home is seeking a Bullying Prevention Coach to provide leadership, coordination, and supervision of all aspects of the bullying prevention initiative in Monterey County to ensure high quality, effective implementation of programming for students, staff and faculty of schools, school districts, and community partners. The Bullying Prevention Coach will support the work of coaching schools in developing systems, improving climate and culture, and all activities related to bullying prevention efforts. The Bullying Prevention Coach will be under the general direction of the Bullying Prevention Program Manager.
The job duties will include:
- Facilitate positive partner relationship between the schools, students, families, Harmony At Home, and other partner agencies
- Assist in the development of educational Bullying Prevention outreach and group work curricula
- Be responsible for conducting educational community outreach by way of development and distribution of resource materials, marketing, use of social media and provision of parent education workshops to support the larger countywide bullying prevention campaign
- Work closely with the Bullying Prevention Program Manager to oversee, direct, and implement all tasks and objectives to ensure short and long-term goals, evaluations and data collections are met
- Participate in all required training events and bullying prevention meetings, which may include some evenings and weekends
- Coach and advise schools in the review and evaluation of anti-bullying policies and supervisory systems
- Refer youth to appropriate services when applicable and coordinate services from providers
- Successfully incorporate the organization’s vision and mission into the Bullying Prevention Program
- Provide information on the goals, core principles, and benefits of bullying prevention at public speaking engagements
- Provide presentations on the goals, core principles, benefits of, and opportunities for participation in the Harmony At Home’s Bullying Prevention Program at parent and community educational events
- Meet with representatives of interested districts, school sites, and community organizations to present details for planning and implementation of the Bullying Prevention Program
- Coach and advise potential new sites/organizations in developing consensus via meetings with stakeholder groups and discussions of goals, core principles, and benefits of the HAH BP.
- Coach and advise potential new sites/organizations to determine readiness for implementation of bullying prevention (funding, consensus, oversight and support from upper echelons, etc.)
- Coach and advise administrators at new sites/organizations in identification and development of a Bullying Prevention Coordinating Committee (HAH BP)
- Coach and advise new sites/organizations in planning dates and addressing logistics (an effective location, availability of technical equipment and support, break times, refreshments, etc.) for training the HAH BP
- Train HAH BP’s at new sites/organizations
- Coach and advise HAH BP’s in planning, scheduling and addressing logistics for subsequent all-staff trainings at new sites/organizations
- Coach and advise HAH BP on all-staff training events
- Coach and advise HAH BP’s at new sites/organizations in developing standing committee meeting dates and times and address logistics for meetings (i.e., frequency and duration of meetings, rotating or standing location, agenda development and dissemination, maintenance of minutes and attendance logs, refreshments, etc.).
- Coach and advise HAH BP’s at new sites/organizations in completing plans for implementation of bullying prevention (including development of a disciplinary matrix, reward systems, standardized reporting and response procedures, and collection of data) using the structured HAH BP Workbook in conjunction with other climate and culture improvement systems in place at the site/organization
- Coach and advise HAH BP’s with development, planning, logistics and execution of annual Kick-Off events
- Coach and advise sites/organizations with planning, execution, processing, and analysis of HAH Questionnaires/Survey given 2 times per year
- Assess on a monthly basis with site/organization representatives the progress of implementation of the Bullying Prevention Program
- Provide feedback, suggestions and support for ongoing implementation
- Coach and advise classroom teachers in developing, executing, and maintaining effective weekly classroom meetings by demonstrating lessons from Harmony At Home’s Pacing Guide, modeling role playing activities, introducing skill building games, sharing appropriate BP literature, etc
- Coach and advise sites/organizations in the development, planning, and execution of monthly and annual bullying prevention celebrations and observations (i.e., National Bullying Prevention Month, Pink Shirt Day, the Million T-Shirt March, etc.)
- Additional bullying prevention support as directed by the Bullying Prevention Managers i.e. Student-Led Assemblies, etc.
- Other duties as required.
Bullying Prevention Coach hours are broken down as follows:
- During the school year, the Bullying Prevention Coach will be expected to work between 32-40 hours per week for up to 40 weeks
- During school breaks BP Coach may be asked to provide up to 40 hours of program support weekly as directed by the Bullying Prevention Program Manager
HOURS: Schedule will vary from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm based on the needs of the organization. Some weekends.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred Bi-lingual Spanish/English
- Experience with Elementary and/or Middle School students preferred
- Experience with presentations and/or facilitating workshops.
- Technology/Computer Skills
- References required.
COMPUTER/SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proficient with computer applications, including: word processing, relational databases, spreadsheets
- Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook preferred
- Extensive knowledge of the Internet and search engines
- Working knowledge of social media applications

COMPENSATION:
The Bullying Prevention Coach position is an hourly position. The pay rate is $22.00/hr
There will be a 90 day probationary period to train on the job duties and evaluate appropriateness and effectiveness in the position.

Special Requirements: Must be able to meet and receive Fingerprinting/Background check and TB test clearance, as required by the school district to work with children in a school setting. Must be physically able to assist clients and/or staff in the evacuations of program facilities in emergency situations.
Travel is required throughout Monterey County, therefore the candidate must possess a valid California Driver’s License, a clean driving record, current automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation.
