Tax Administrative Assistant / Payables and Mail Clerk

What you will own & improve upon:
- Administrative Team Support: You will become the third person in our administrative team and will perform a variety of general support tasks including office supply management, procuring company lunches, company errand runs, and filing management.
- Payables and Mail Administration: You will get firm mail from several locations and will be the primary payables administrator responsible for printing and mailing several hundred checks for clients per week.
- C-Level Executive Support: You will be responsible for supporting the Company President administratively. You will help organize his workflow and calendar, ensure efficient operations and email correspondence, help anticipate and accomplish any and all tasks needed to allow him to focus on continued company growth.
- Billing and Invoicing Support: You will be responsible for ongoing company billing tasks, including tax and monthly recurring invoicing.
- Staff Support: You will interact with staff members on behalf of company leadership - facilitating their needs, providing a link between them and company leadership, and helping to set a positive work culture. You help support and onboard all new staff to the company.
- Third Party Interactions: You will interact with clients, vendors, and with stakeholders in various company projects, in tandem with admin team members or on behalf of the Company President.
What you already know:
- Software Proficiency: You are proficient in the full Microsoft Office and Google Suite of tools, and have great fluency with any sort of software you have to learn. Practical proficiency with Quickbooks is a competitive advantage.
- Education: A positive attitude, reliability, and general intelligence are more important for this position than formal educational achievements, but an interest in accounting and business in general will add to your enjoyment in our company. We support educational attainment for our team.
- Communication Skills: You communicate kindly, clearly, and professionally with your peers, clients, and third parties at all times. You bring positive energy to all of your endeavors and leave the people you interact with feeling energized. You have impeccable grammar and represent yourself professionally.

What you will learn:
- Accounting Team Support: You may know nothing about accounting, but you will quickly learn the ebbs and flows of the business and help our organization constantly improve. You will work hand-in-hand with the administrative team of our tax department to ensure we have successful tax seasons.
- Other Project Services: Our Company President has many other projects constantly in the works, so you will support those endeavors as necessary.
About the Team:
Harmony Group is a fast growing accounting firm that is the national leader in restaurant accounting and an expert tax accounting firm for businesses and their owners. Our headquarters are in Annapolis, MD, but approximately 80% of our staff work from home around the United States. This role is located in our headquarters office and will report to our Tax Administration Manager.
