POSITION SUMMARY:
Haven of Care Home Health is seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide essential personal care and support to clients in their homes. The HHA will assist clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and independence while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
KEY RESPONSIBILES:
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene needs.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely, including walking, transferring, and repositioning.
- Meal Preparation & Nutrition: Plan and prepare meals based on dietary needs and assist with feeding as required.
- Medication Reminders: Ensure clients take prescribed medications on schedule (no medication administration).
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized environment, including laundry, dishwashing, and tidying living spaces.
- Companionship & Emotional Support: Engage clients in conversation, activities, and social interactions to promote well-being.
- Transportation & Errands: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands as needed.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Observe and report any changes in the client’s health, behavior, or living conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (preferred but not always required).
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or willing to obtain).
- Ability to follow care plans and work under supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (if travel is required).
- Ability to pass a background check and health screening as required by state regulations.
WORK ENIVRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and assisting with mobility.
- Comfortable working in a home environment that may include pets and varying conditions.
