Full Job Description
A Direct Support Professional supports individuals with disabilities in Home Support. He/she assists individuals with daily living skills development, health and wellness management, behavioral and communication development and community involvement. Quality support services are delivered with dignity and respect for each individual’s unique needs. A Direct Support Professional advocates for individuals to be fully integrated into community life.
As a caregiver, you will provide Individualized home support (IHS), In-Home Family Support Services (IHFS), and Supportive Employment Services (SES) to individuals living in their residences with varying levels of mental and physical health needs.
This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals with flexible weekday schedules who want to get out and connect with people.
Duties may include:
- companionship, interpersonal connection, and emotional support;
- meal preparation, such as help with cooking skills or grocery shopping;
- transportation for doctor's visits and errands;
- light housekeeping and laundry;
- and other independent living skills.
All applicants must:
- be reliable, compassionate, patient, engaging, and detail-oriented.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- 1 year customer service experience preferred
- 1 year caregiving experience preferred
- Driver's license (Required)
