Job Summary :
Nurses perform a wide variety of job duties during their shifts, caring for and educating patients about their conditions, as well as establishing trust and building rapport with patients. The CNA is responsible for being part of the Medical team as well as helping to facilitate the flow of the Medical Department and Medication Administration Program.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for designated patients
- Provides nursing care for all patients within scope and reports all concerns to nurse and provider
- Gathers data relevant to the patient’s individual needs
- Elicits important information concerning the patient’s progress
- Gathers data regarding patient needs while providing direct patient care
- Documents nursing observations according to facility charting standards
- Administers medications and treatments per company policy
- Reports symptoms, reactions and progress of patient to the nurse and provider
- Pursues proper chain of command to attain a satisfactory solution
- Initiates changes to improve patient care; discusses changes with doctor when appropriate
- Responsible for knowledge of legal aspects of nursing
