Job Summary
You can work Saturdays, Sundays or BOTH 3-11pm
You as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) play a crucial role in providing assistance and support to this individuals with disabilities, ensuring she leads a fulfilling and independent life. This position involves working closely with a second staff to support a non-aggressive female who likes to run away in her home and out in the community.
Duties
- Assist client with daily living activities, including meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Monitor client's health and well-being, providing patient care as needed.
- Support individuals in social interactions and community engagement to enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for clients, ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Document client progress and report any significant changes in behavior or health to supervisors.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
Skills
- Experience in group home settings with mood modulation is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of working with people with disabilities (especially spectrum disorders).
- Proficiency in positive supports. (no holds).
- Ability to come up with creative and fun activities to do inside and out of the home. She is best when busy!
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- YOU MUST HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE OF YOUR OWN, DRIVER'S LICENSE AND INSURANCE.
- You must live within 15 minutes of her home in 55125.
