Activity Director

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team in providing enriching experiences for our residents in an assisted living environment. The Activities Director will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing engaging recreational programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents. This role requires a deep understanding of mental health and the ability to create an inclusive atmosphere that fosters community and connection among residents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and needs of residents..
• Coordinate and oversee daily activities, ensuring they are engaging, safe, and accessible for all participants.
• Collaborate with the activities supervisor to ensure activities are appropriate and stay within budget.
• Organize special events, outings, and themed celebrations to enhance community spirit and resident participation.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation, preferences, and feedback to continually improve programming.

Skills

• Strong understanding of caregiving principles within assisted living settings.
• Experience in event planning and organizing recreational activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team while demonstrating empathy and compassion towards residents.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, staff, and community members.
• Creative thinking skills to develop innovative programs that cater to various interests and abilities.
• Strong and defensive driving skills with clean record.
