Harmony Project is an award-winning research-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We promote positive youth development through year-round music lessons and ensemble participation. Our mission is to harness the transformative power of music to increase access to higher education for underserved students by removing systemic barriers to achievement through academic and social support.
Job Overview:
The Site Assistant is responsible for assisting program leaders and teaching artists with administrative and programmatic support at specific sites or programs.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Strive to support programming that is culturally responsive, community based and anti-racist, aligning with Harmony Project’s mission.
- Assists in implementing overall program design and schedule.
- Engages with surrounding community to ensure HP is serving changing needs of its constituents.
- Provides support for annual Progress Check-Ins, Recruitment, and Parent/Teacher Conferences.
- Supports Teaching Artists as both a team and individual.
- Provides support for collection and management of student data.
- On-site supervision and support of group classes, ensembles, and other program activities.
- Supports in organization and execution of concerts and activities.
- Helps conduct communication with families.
- Strengthen partnerships with all stakeholders (students, families, Teaching Artists, program partners, community leaders and organizations, donors)

- Ability to thrive in a continually evolving environment
- Fluency in all Microsoft Office programs (Office, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace apps (Calendar, Gmail, Google drive, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Slack, Monday, Canva, Mailchimp, and Typeform.
- Spanish proficiency desired
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or a Bachelors degree in music education, music performance, education, social work or related field; OR be a current undergraduate or graduate student.
- Knowledge of working in community and school partnerships
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain stationary for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds.
Additional Requirements
- Flexible work schedule to include some weekends, weeknights, and holidays.
