What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPED Teacher position at Harmony Public Schools?
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities for preschool-aged children
- Provide behavioral therapy and support to children with special needs
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior in the classroom
- Mentor and guide students in their social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive learning environment
- Utilize library services to enhance the learning experience for students
- Work closely with behavioral health professionals to implement individualized plans for students
- Provide tutoring and additional support to students as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and strategies
- Strong understanding of child development principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (preferred)
- Teaching certification or license (preferred)
