What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN or LPN Night Nurse- Substance Abuse Disorder position at Harmony Recovery?
REGISTERED NURSE (RN) Starting Hourly Rate will vary from RN to LPN- Night Differential is $18 for both Licensures.
Primary Function: Assess and monitor the physical and emotional aspects of clients.
Supervision: Supervised by Nursing Team Manager
Essential Functions:
· Assess and document clients’ vital signs, TPR BP (sit/stand while on detox) pain, pulse ox, physical and emotional state, and reporting abnormalities in a timely manner.
· Provide appropriate care in case of emergencies, effectively assessing and triaging the situation.
· Chart observations and conditions for the detox period, including abnormalities.
· Accurately complete documentation and chart checks.
· Perform admission nursing assessment and review the admit form.
· Create medical treatment plans based on assessment of medical needs.
· Prepare for and/or perform venipuncture.
· Administer and account for medication following internal procedures and best practices.
· Obtain, carry out, and authenticate physician orders.
· Organize and prioritize shift duties in the facility.
· Review daily census and assure accuracy.
· Complete client discharge in a timely and accurate manner.
· Provide guidance and mentoring of LPN and HCA functions.
· Attend 75% of nursing department meetings.
· Adheres to confidentiality laws, including 42CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and HITECH, as well as all Harmony policies and procedures.
· Willingness to work a variety of shifts based on business needs and client requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
· Associate degree in Nursing
· Current Colorado RN nursing license. Must be in compliance with all licensing regulations and laws.
- Current 1st Aid and CPR certifications
- 1 year of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting is preferred.
- Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record if driving Harmony vehicle or driving for Harmony business.

- Ability to function within the scope of practice of individual licensure.
- Ability to relate with detachment and empathy to clients and families.
· Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
· Willingness to gain knowledge and understanding of the disease concept and individual counseling procedures in the treatment of substance use disorders.
· Willingness to obtain basic knowledge of the emotional and physical aspects associated with substance use disorders.
· Personal maturity is reflected by sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
· Ability to function as a team member of the nursing department.

Physical Capabilities:
· Physical health is adequate to manipulate the stairway, access all areas of Harmony’s grounds, assist with ambulation, and perform CPR.
