Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans. This position requires a strong understanding of various medical practices and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
1. Works with admissions staff to assure appropriateness of admission of each client to Harmony Ridge Recovery Center, LLC.
2. Responsible for overseeing clients admitted for medically assisted withdrawal from alcohol, benzodiazepine, opioid and amphetamine use disorder, which requires daily evaluation by NP while client is in Detox Level of Care.
3. If it is determined client needs higher level of care, will arrange for transfer to appropriate facility.
4. Prescribe necessary medications per protocol for clients who are experiencing withdrawal.
5. Monitor all clients to determine if intervention is needed to treat acute or chronic medical problems. These interventions include, but are not limited to prescribing medications (Examples: antibiotics, antihypertensive medication)
6. Will use medical expertise to determine if client needs referral to Emergency Room, specialist, or ambulatory clinic.
7. Will review all labs that are obtained and ensure necessary interventions are performed.
8. Will ensure all charting is complete at time of client’s discharge.
9. Prior to discharge will verify appropriate referral is arranged for clients post discharge. (Example: Appropriate referral for follow up for Hepatitis C, hypertension, diabetes, or other medical conditions).
10. Performs psychiatric evaluations to diagnose anxiety, depression, or other psychiatric conditions and prescribe psychotropic medication, if indicated, to promote sobriety post discharge.
11. Will work with clinical staff to determine effectiveness of medication.
12. Discusses options of medication assisted treatment to promote sobriety, such as Suboxone, oral Naltrexone, Vivitrol, Antabuse and Campral.
13. Provide 24 hour on call coverage.
14. Collaborates with Medical Director frequently to discuss client care and maintain quality care for all clients.
15. Facilitates communication and education with all ancillary services.
16. Evaluates quality of medical treatment in an ongoing basis to provide quality client care.
17. Acts effectively and calmly in response to an emergency.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge:
A minimum of two years working with substance abuse preferred
- A minimum of two years working with substance abuse preferred
- Experience with inpatient detox and medication management
- Familiarity with utilization management principles preffered

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
