Job Summary
The Food Service/Prep Aide will assist the cook in preparing and presenting food. Responsibilities include:- Preparing food items as requested
- Portioning and plating salads and desserts
- Cleaning the kitchen, including floors and equipment
- Setting up and running the dishwashing operation
- Maintaining sanitation equipment and checking water temperatures
- Taking out the garbage
- Providing assistance with dining room service
- Restocking food on shelves and in refrigerators
- Reporting problems to supervisors
- Attending required meetings and providing superior customer service
Requirements
- Good organizational skills and ability to work well with a team
- Ability to work under close supervision
- BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF KITCHEN OPERATION AND USE OF KITCHEN EQUIPMENT
- ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND RETAIN SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: standing, kneeling, walking for extended periods
- TOLERATING TEMPERATURE EXTREMES, WET/HUMID CONDITIONS, AND NOISE
- LIFTING 50 POUNDS AND CARRYING HEAVY OBJECTS UP TO 20 FEET
