Job Description
The Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in assisting physicians with evaluating patients' level of function and developing treatment plans after consulting with patients' families. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting physicians in evaluating patient function by applying diagnostic procedures and establishing goals based on current and potential levels of improvement
- Guiding patients in therapeutic activities to improve independence, physical, and mental functioning
- Advising patients and their families on the use of prosthetic devices, orthotics, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment
- Participating in performance improvement activities and discharge planning
- Ensuring the use of the 4Ms (What Matters to the patient, Medications, Mentation, and Mobility) and providing Age-Friendly Care
