Job Summary :
As a MET Team Field Technician I, you’ll be a key part of a dynamic team responsible for constructing, maintaining, and dismantling meteorological towers across diverse U.S. locations. This is a unique, travel-intensive position, perfect for those who enjoy hands-on work in the outdoors and are energized by new environments and challenges. Working side-by-side with skilled team members, you’ll spend 1-2 weeks at a time in the field, staying in hotels and tackling various weather conditions. This role provides the opportunity to explore different regions of the country, contribute to our mission of renewable energy, and be part of a supportive and safety-focused crew.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Perform technical tasks at various sites to install, maintain, and decommission meteorological towers.
- Complete daily safety documentation (Job Hazard Analysis) to ensure a safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with the manager through Slack for daily updates and coordination.
- Log hours daily for DOT compliance and accurately track time in ADP for timecards.
- Drive and operate DOT-certified trucks and trailers safely in the field.
- Clean, maintain, and inventory tools and equipment.
- Travel frequently to project sites for extended stays (1-2 weeks).
- Build knowledge of tower operations under the guidance of a lead technician.
- Safely operate heavy machinery and use hand and power tools.
- Participate in project planning with team input.
- Act professionally across diverse sites, including remote and construction areas.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Base Pay : This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Base pay $19.00 - $22.00 / hour . When traveling, team members earn daily per diem & substantial overtime.
Take-home pay ranges $46,800 - $51,000 annually ($22.50 - 24.50 / hr) plus daily per diem in addition to this base pay.
Career pathing opportunities : Harness Energy provides training to move from Field Tech Tier I to Tier II to Lead to Tier III. Pay ranges increase significantly with training and movement up the Tiers, with leads earning $30 / hour.
