The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for the renewal and day-to-day servicing of existing accounts. They will play a critical role in account retention. The Account Manager will be responsible for day-to-day servicing of existing accounts. They will review renewals with the client, offer advice on coverage gaps, and confirm the accuracy of information for renewal.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Directly report to the Sales Team Leader and serves as the senior servicing advisor, mentor, and technician for sales team; leads the Client Service Representative in all service operations.
- Responsible for total account management for all team accounts, to include:
- Day-to-day communication with the clients and carriers including endorsement processing, certificate issuance, and cancellations.
- Responsible for renewal preparation and submission according to 120- Day Glidepath including helping schedule renewal calls with clients.
- Bind business and ensure billing occurs with satisfactory client experience (see service standards)
- Coverage analysis for client's exposures and recommendation of coverages to round out accounts; conduct policy reviews and checking for quality standards (application and data management integrity)
- Initiates appropriate correspondence with carriers and clients.
- Reconciles monthly production reports.
- Prepare for daily client interface on a wide range of topics, to include giving clear answers to clients on any coverage or billing questions, including information on rate fluctuations or policy changes to ensure full understanding.
- Update policy changes on customer accounts in our book of business and inform clients about policy changes according to NAIC regulations.
- Consult with clients to help process quotes and issue renewals including any updates needed to current policies; able to explain insurance concepts in clear terms.
- Secure documentation needed to be retained by the agency including signed applications, rejection of coverage, bind confirmations thereby mitigating of Errors & Omissions Liability
- Gather all documentation needed for reporting a claim including follow up for adjuster information and tracking claim as client advocate through Via One
- Keep up with industry standards, insurance products, current rates, coverages, insurance policies, and carriers' appetite to assist clients, and sales team.
- Capable of planning and leading technical training to maintain sales team readiness on all software platforms and servicing workflows.
- Develops as an insurance professional through industry certifications, designations, and professional studies.
- Required to document client management systems on all tasks including dropping important emails into client management system and updating applications within the client file as necessary.
- 3-5 years of insurance industry experience, preferably with background in servicing.
- Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal relationship skills, and be able to visualize the strategic impacts of personal and team actions.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint, etc.) and agency client management system (Applied EPIC experience preferred)
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize action items.
