Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The entry-level Underwriting Assistant will provide confidential, high-level administrative and secretarial support to the Director of MPA. They will be responsible for providing support to branch offices regarding all administrative functions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the underwriting team in evaluating, processing, and managing insurance applications. Reports to assigned underwriter or supervisor.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing supervisor with information necessary to make sound underwriting decisions.
- Provides support within established performance standards.
- Assures all related support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with business unit customer service.
- Participates with the underwriter in the renewal and new business activities that support underwriting decisions that are consistent with department growth and retention goals.
- Partners with the underwriter to establish support needs (i.e. identify/gather relevant account information to quote and/or bind) for new and renewal business.
- Prepares underwriting/pricing exhibits (i.e. Account Summaries, Loss Runs, Internet Research, Rate Sheets).
- Manages account documentation (i.e. Account Clearance, Acknowledgement Letters, Underwriting Documentation, Closing Letters).
- Manages Agency Management System, C1, account coding.
- Ensures accurate and timely servicing of accounts in accordance with Department Service Standards.
- Provides administrative support and other related services as needed.
- Participates in other projects/assignments as assigned.
- No travel required.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also capable of working independently.
