Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned in addition to the responsibilities shown below as deemed necessary.
- Underwriter in the renewal and new business activities that support underwriting decisions that are consistent with department growth, profitability and within individual granted authority.
- Partners with the Senior underwriters to establish support needs (i.e., identify/gather relevant account information to quote and/or bind) for new and renewal business.
- Reviews underwriting / pricing exhibits (i.e., Account Summaries, Loss Runs, Internet Research, Rate Sheets).
- Manages/oversees account documentation (i.e., Account Clearance, Acknowledgement Letters, Underwriting Documentation, Closing Letters).
- Ensures accurate and timely servicing of accounts in accordance with Department Service Standards.
- Participates in projects/assignments as needed.
- Works with their supervising underwriter conducting quarterly audits of underwriting files to ensure accounts are written in accordance with assigned Letters of Authority.
- Some limited travel may be required.
