Harnett County's Department of Social Services is currently recruiting for an Income Maintenance Supervisor II responsible for carrying administrative and supervisory tasks for the Work First, Energy and Child Care units. This employee is responsible for ensuring staff members are adequately prepared to perform their duties, organizing and directing work, setting work standards, adhering to county and agency personnel policies and procedures, following state and federal program regulations, and assuring clients are served in an efficiently and timely manner.
High School or General Education Diploma (GED) and three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licensing and Certifications:
Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.Successful completion of a drug screening and criminal background check will be required as a condition of employment.

- Considerable knowledge of needs and problems of disadvantaged persons.
- General knowledge of community services and programs, which could affect the client/applicant.
- Good mathematical, reasoning, and computational skills.
- Ability to instruct, organize, direct, and supervise employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, applicants, and community agencies to obtain pertinent data and to interpret rules and regulations.
