Director of Data Science and Analytics
Location: San Francisco - Hybrid (1-2 days per week)
Salary: $230-260k base equity
We're seeking a Director of Data Science & Analytics to lead a high-performing team and foster a data-driven culture that powers strategic decision-making for our client-a rapidly growing travel platform backed by top investors. As they scale, they're looking for a visionary leader to define their analytics strategy and drive data-informed growth.
What You'll Do
- Mentor and grow a team of data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and impact.
- Leverage statistical modeling and machine learning to forecast business trends, optimize pricing, and enhance customer experiences.
- Design, implement, and analyze experiments to measure the impact of product changes, marketing campaigns, and operational improvements.
- Define frameworks for data governance, quality, and infrastructure to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of insights across the company.
- Partner with Product, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to develop key metrics, analyze performance, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Oversee the development of automated dashboards and self-service analytics tools to empower teams with real-time insights.
What We're Looking For
- 10 years of experience in data analytics or data science, including 5 years in leadership roles.
- Strong background in predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and A/B testing methodologies to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, or R, with experience in BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Sigma.
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive measurable business impact.
- Experience working cross-functionally and influencing executive stakeholders.
- Background in B2B SaaS or travel industry is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field required; Master's or MBA preferred.
