Opening for Automotive Technician Apprentice
Harper Chevrolet GMC Service Department is seeking qualified applicants for an Automotive Technician’s Apprentice. While some experience is necessary, we are looking to offer in-house training for an entry-level position learning automotive repair and maintenance. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
· Assisting our certified technicians in day-to-day operations and technical activities
· Diagnosing and performing repair work with the guidance of a certified technician
· Test-driving vehicles, testing vehicle components and system and using diagnostic tools and special equipment
· Providing Service Advisor with an estimate of time needed to complete repairs and keeping Service Advisor well-informed as the repair process is completed
· Maintaining accountability for all dealership-owned tools and equipment as well as maintaining a clean and safe work-space for yourself and others
Applicants applying for this position will need to meet the following requirements:
· Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and a high school diploma or GED
· Must have reliable transportation to and from work Monday through Friday
· An enthusiasm for learning automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem solving and repair
· High level of self-motivation, a team-focused attitude and an eagerness to improve skills
· Ability to communicate equally well with other technicians, parts personnel and management
· Applicants must be punctual and reliable
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
