Responsibilities
Conducts advanced predictive analytics and forecasting to inform decision-making on enrollment, student success, and resource allocation.
Analyzes complex data sets using a combination of statistical, quantitative and qualitative methods.
Extracts, manipulates, and interprets data using statistical software (E.g., SPSS, R) and SQL-based query applications (e.g., Cognos).
Develops and implements dynamic models, including machine learning algorithms, to optimize student-centered outcomes.
Creates clear and actionable visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Translates complex data analyses into actionable insights and delivers clear, concise communication tailored to non-technical audiences across multiple formats.
Collaborates with institutional stakeholders to identify data needs and provide tailored solutions.
Validates compliance reports and data submissions to maintain institutional accountability.
Collaborates with Database Administrators (DBAs) to design, maintain, and enhance the college's reporting warehouse, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and optimal performance for advanced analytics.
Documents analytic protocols, methodologies and results to ensure transparency and replicability.
Creates and revises institutional dashboards; retrieves data from institutional dashboards.
Assists with validation of compliance reports and data submissions.
Conducts ad hoc studies and contributes to the continuous improvement of data strategy efforts.
Represents the Office of Institutional Research on institutional committees and task groups.
Manages multiple priorities and high volumes of work.
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree, with coursework in statistics. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in predictive analytics, forecasting, and data visualization modeling techniques, working with large data sets in a professional setting. Ability to retrieve, analyze, and present data in meaningful formats (tables, charts, graphs) to various audiences. Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R), business intelligence tools (e.g., Cognos, Argos), data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). and Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word). Excellent attention to detail. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders. Mastery of writing clear and concise documentation, summaries of methodologies, and descriptions of statistical results. Prior experience in higher education preferred.
