Job Description
Seeking a Temporary Office Assistant at the Learning and Career Center satellite location in Prospect Heights for primarily evening administrative and customer service work.
The Learning and Career Center (LCC) offers certificate programs, skill building courses and foundational courses at Harper's satellite location in Prospect Heights. The LCC features 20 classrooms, computer and science labs, library, test center, childcare facilities, Hawks Care student food pantry, and community partner programming.
Responsibilities
Responsible for providing customer service to students, faculty, and visitors; performing tasks in support of academics and operations; providing support for diverse programming onsite.
During evening open hours (4 : 30 - 10 : 00 p.m.), serves as primary department contact onsite and ensures continuous coverage of the LCC reception desk.
Refers patron inquiries and building operation issues to appropriate onsite, institutional, or external resources. Provides accurate documentation of work and flags items for follow-up by LCC permanent staff.
Collaborates with other employees onsite (student aides, childcare staff, police officer, librarians) for best real-time service delivery.
Performs additional clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education :
High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience :
1 year general office experience or direct customer service required. Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and confidentiality. Multilingual capability is an asset.
