Harper College seeks a dynamic and dedicated bilingual (Spanish & English) speaking instructor for its Continuing Professional Education department to teach a Basic Computer Skills class for Spanish-speaking students. This 14-hour, in-person course is designed to introduce students with little prior experience to foundational computing concepts and applications.
The instructor will guide students through essential topics such as navigating a computer, using common software applications, and understanding internet basics. Additionally, the instructor will demonstrate the relevance of these skills for daily life, college studies, workforce advancement, and community involvement. Responsibilities include delivering engaging student-centered instruction, tracking attendance, assessing progress, and fostering a supportive learning environment that empowers students to build confidence and complete the course with a certificate of achievement. The instructor is also responsible for developing the academic curriculum and course outline for this course.
Educational Requirements : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience Requirements : Experience teaching adults is preferred and 2 years’ experience in the field. Extensive knowledge with basic computer skills, verbal and written skills.
