Position Summary
To be a constant and consistent positive leader to maximize sales and service of Harper Corporation of America products to its customers. The Technical Service Advisor will provide Harper Tech Service with the expertise to become involved in the graphic reproduction stages of the printing process. This will increase the overall value, opportunities, and exposure of Harper Tech Service to the marketplace we serve. This expertise will allow Harper Tech Service to be a single source for any printing related problems, starting in pre-press areas through printed product off the press. Primary responsibility is covering the territories in your region of the country (Minnesota,Wisconsin,Illinois,Indiana,Ohio,Michigan). To be able to multitask within the policies and expectation of the company when/if necessary. To work with all those involved in your day to day and to always keep a professional attitude and appearance. Take ownership in all duties and policies related to this position.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
· Support Territory Technical Sales Manager to grow sales.
· Ability to perform roll audits, banded roll trials, characterizations etc.
· Prepare/Coordinate a territory strategic plan.
· Direct focus on opportunities for consulting
· Prepare, plan and direct needs assessment
· Prepare plan and present an effective ROI
· Handle customer follow-up and correspondence
· Perform computer tasks proficiently
· Prepare formalized reporting Daily, Weekly, and Monthly. i.e. expense reports, weekly meetings, and monthly highlights, needs assessments.
· Effectively manage projects internal and external.
· Continuous involvement in industry specific innovations, technologies and advancements
Additional Responsibilities:
· Proactively plan trips
· Prepare and present PowerPoint presentations as deemed necessary by management and industry
· Control costs within budget supplied by management
· Author technical articles on a regular basis to enhance personal value and HGS in the marketplace
· Work with various educational institutions to ensure we are involved in educational process to promote change in industry
· Attend various trade seminars keeping abreast of advancements in industry.
· Total accountability (all aspects of the position)
· Possess ability to manage time and multi-task
· Proficient knowledge/scope of services, supplies, products for all HCA divisions.
Qualifications
· Must have high school diploma or GED.
· Printing or Graphics Art degree or equivalent experience.
· Must be able to proficiently operate personal computers and related equipment and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Must have through knowledge of process printing and color communication.
· Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the flexographic industry or the equivalent.
· Must possess ability to manage time and multi-task.
· Live within the boundaries of assigned territory.
· As a result of living in the territory, the individual receives little direct supervision. Most supervision is done by phone or e-mail. Periodic visits with Managers will occur as well as annual performance reviews.
· Ability to travel 50-70%; including some nights and weekends.
. No more than 2 consecutive days in the home office.
. Must possess a valid driver’s license, and good driving record.
Language and Communication Skills:
College level written and spoken English (presentation skills)
Ability to speak a foreign language a plus.
Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence (proposals & technical articles)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
