Role and Responsibilities:
The Cook I is a crucial member of our food service team at Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel. This role involves preparing and cooking a variety of food products in a fast-paced kitchen environment, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare all food orders in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Meet expected service delivery times and ensure that all menu items are served quickly and efficiently.
- Perform all station functions necessary in the prep and cooking areas, including maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Provide excellent customer service and interact positively with colleagues and management.
- Control food production to include proper cooking methods, cooking time and temperature, and ensuring sanitation, handling, and storage of prepared food and leftovers.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Six months to one year of cooking experience in a high-volume food service operation.
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation standards and procedures, basic food preparation techniques, and ability to operate and maintain basic kitchen equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership/motivational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- Neat, professional appearance and excellent personal hygiene.
