The Sportsbook Assistant Manager is responsible for effectively managing Sportsbook Supervisors and Ticket Writers in a high-performing, welcoming environment that is focused on customer service and compliance. Essential Job Functions
- Effectively manage and schedule Sports Book Supervisors and Ticket Writers to ensure full coverage of sports book terminals
- Place and replenish sheets/parlay cards
- Write compliance paperwork/MTLs
- Manage cash drops and cash replenishment
- Approve ticket cashing as determined by approval matrix and internal controls
- Assist in Reward card signup
- Maintain thorough knowledge of sport betting terminology to assist customers with placing wagers
- Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to daily
- Develop relationships with customers and ensure they feel welcomed
- Keep a par list of supplies for the Manager
- Provide support to Ticket Writers to handle customer complaints/disputes
- Assist in handling the day-to-day activities of a sports book
- Foster an environment focused on customer service and compliance
- Promote a positive image for the company within the industry and community
- Enabling and disable kiosks for daily wagering
- Monitoring customer activity on kiosks for compliance and AML purposes.
- Reset unregistered cash and pay-out totals and complete necessary paperwork for kiosk wagering
- Monitor back-office status for kiosk error faults, perform trouble shooting steps for repair, and escalate to next line support when applicable
- 2 years’ experience as a Sports Book Supervisor
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be confident in one’s ability to assess situations and make informed decisions
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage relationships
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a diverse range of activities and effectively prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to obtain and/or be eligible for work authorization, regulatory licensing (where applicable)
- Prior work experience in a sports book is highly preferred
- Ability to motivate, lead, and mentor staff members
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Self-starter attitude who shows initiative
- Committed to delivering an elevated level of customer service
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, pull or push 25 lbs.
- Must be able write for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to twist, bend or reach with no significant boundaries.
