What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Custodian position at Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School?
Brunswick School Department Head Custodian opening at Harriet Beecher Stowe School. The position requires general knowledge in all areas of maintaining a building including but not limited to: Proper cleaning techniques, building maintenance and repairs, electrical, plumbing, security systems, HVAC maintenance, snow removal, and equipment repair. The position requires supervising custodial staff and working closely with the other building head custodian. The Head Custodian works closely with the Director of Facilities, Grounds and Food Service to determine maintenance and repair needs. They also work with outside contractors to ensure work is done properly and in a timely manner. The Head Custodian will spend a lot of time on their feet, must be able to lift at least fifty pounds, and be comfortable climbing ladders and stairs. The Head Custodian will work closely with building administration, staff and will have daily interaction with students. The head custodian needs to ensure the building is clean, safe, secure and ready for students and staff on a daily basis. The hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Some overtime is required.
