Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair various types of pumps and associated equipment. Assist senior mechanics in diagnosing issues with a focus on learning about centrifugal pumps.
- Learn to perform and assist with routine repairs on pumps, electric motors, and related equipment under supervision.
- Develop skills in documenting repair and maintenance activities accurately.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment with accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards while performing all tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in learning about mechanical systems.
- Basic familiarity with hand and power tools is a plus.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and willingness to learn how to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Good problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions closely.
- Good communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn, develop new skills, and grow within the role.
- Previous exposure to mechanical systems or basic repair tasks (e.g., automotive work, small engine repair, relevant hobbies, relevant school projects).
- Vocational training or coursework in mechanics, machining, or a related technical field.
- Basic familiarity with workshop safety practices.
- Ability to work in various environments, including industrial settings.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment (often with assistance or using lifting aids).
- Availability to work standard shop hours, with potential for overtime as required and based on training progress.
