What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Runner position at Harrington Raceway & Casino?
To serve all food items for assigned stations according to Sous Chef’s direction. Responsible for providing prompt and friendly service to all of the guests of the establishment in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner displaying a high standard of customer service. Familiar with all buffet choices and able to answer any guest questions knowledgeably and in a courteous and patient manner. Should be familiar with the menus, ingredients, methods of cooking and preparation time for all items during assigned shift. Actively participates with staff to dish-up food items for customers. Demonstrates the ability to handle varying business with assistance. Responsible for running food and supplies to each of the Buffet specialty kitchens, ‘Side Show’ Café, Sports Bar and Clubhouse. Rotates all food and makes sure it is properly labeled and dated within assigned station. Makes food garnishes fresh everyday for display on the buffet service line. Checks all food for taste, temperature and eye appeal. Maintains the cleanliness of the front buffet line, replenishes the china, silver and paper in the buffet. Demonstrates ability to maintain designated station in a neat and orderly manner by practicing safe food handling and sanitation. Must strive for a picture perfect presentation. Assists in the cleaning of the buffet specialty kitchens upon close. Reports to Sous Chef prior to leaving the station or at end of shift. Complies with all department and company rules, regulations, policies, procedures, internal controls and government rules and regulations. Promotes positive public and employee relations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent. One year food experience.
- Familiar with production charts.
- Must report with proper tools, clean provided uniform and non-skid shoes.
- Physically strong.
- Must be able to work with others as a team player.
- Minimum 18 years old.
- No recent felony convictions.
