Description: We are seeking an associate to add to our Financial Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights team to represent creditors, sureties, trustees, debtors and committees in a variety of bankruptcy and litigation matters. Given the global nature of our firm and broad reach of practice, this role will involve working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple offices. Training will be provided and the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule is also available.

Responsibilities:
- Draft demand letters, as well as state court motions, memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, briefs, etc.
- Research factual and legal issues to develop strategies for clients in various insolvency and bankruptcy situations
- Represent and give legal advice to creditor clients with regard to collateral preservation and recovery, and judgment enforcement matters
- Represent lenders in workout and forbearance agreements
- Court appearances in state court and bankruptcy court
- The firm expects a minimum of 1800 billable hours annually
- 1-5 years of litigation experience, preference to experience with creditor's rights
- Bankruptcy court experience preferred, not required
- Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school
- Must be admitted in New York
- Familiarity with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms
- Excellent research skills, writing skills and verbal communication required
- Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
- Demonstrated high level organizational skills for prioritizing workload
- Demonstrated ability to absorb, process and understand, new information rapidly
- Must be able to manage competing priorities
- Maintains high standards of performance
- Exhibit conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility
