Harris Beach Murtha is looking for an Immigration Associate or Senior Counsel with at 3 years of experience to join the team in the Hartford, CT office. You will thrive in this role if you have:
- 3 years of business or employment-based immigration experience with high-volume practice
- Connecticut Bar admittance or admitted to practice law in another state
- Superior writing and editing skills for complex support letters
- Please submit a writing sample with your application
- Knowledge of foreign languages (Arabic, Portuguese, Romanian, Mandarin, or Polish, etc.) a plus, but not required
- Prepare a wide variety of business-based nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1) and immigration (employment and family-based) petitions, including forms preparation and supporting documentation
- Prepare immigrant visa petitions, including PERM, EB-1, NIW, EB-2 and EB-3 classifications
- Assist health care clients with Schedule A Nurse petitions, J-1 waiver applications, and related issues
- Assist clients with form I-9 and E-Verify issues
- Directly represent clients before government agencies
- Review and approve client petitions, applications, and evidence for submission to agencies
- Exhibit well-developed interpersonal skills (exude patience and empathy), particularly with clients

- Enjoy working with diverse personalities within various levels of the firm
- Are comfortable working a hybrid remote schedule
