What you will do at Harris County Public Library :
This position is responsible for developing programs for an adult audience. Provide customer service, reader’s advisory, and basic reference service. Supports Innovation and Maker Space Lab activities for adults. Exemplify the high standards and expectations for the library system in its daily operations and services. This position is at the Lone Star College (LSC) - Tomball Campus. The LSC-Tomball Community Library is a joint library partnership between the LSC-Tomball Campus and the Harris County Public Library (HCPL) to serve both the academic and public communities.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Plans, coordinates, and promotes adult services and programs for Innovation Lab, summer reading, and other special events.
- Assists in providing formal and informal hands-on instruction in the Innovation Lab.
- Performs basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on Innovation Lab equipment, including but not limited to 3D printers, laser cutters, and Cricut machines.
- Provides customer service, reader’s advisory, and basic reference service within and beyond our walls.
- Promotes library services to adults and the community.
- Provides individualized technical assistance to library users.
- Collaborates with the branch team to develop, implement, and market programs in the library and community.
- Develops and maintain cooperative relationships with local / community organizations.
- Develops an engaging and attractive library collection.
- Attends staff meetings, activities, and / or professional conferences and actively serves on committees.
- Other duties as assigned.
