Position Overview:
Under the direction of the HART Medical Director, the HART Clinical Mental Health Advance Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing overall clinical oversight to the HART program, including the Crisis Intervention Specialists (CIS), CIS Supervisors, Case Managers, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. The Clinical Mental Health APP is tasked with developing and implementing mental health plans and goals for the HART program, including reviewing CIS narratives and case management plans. The HART Clinical Mental Health APP may act in the absence of the HART Medical Director.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Approves and monitors the level of clinical response and care rendered by CIS, case managers, and other personnel and functions under supervision.
Assist in developing and implementing plans and goals for mental and behavioral health, and crisis intervention that are equitable, culturally responsive and appropriate.
Conducts regular reviews of client/patient records to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with policies, protocols, procedures, and state and local regulations.
Develop processes and procedures related to clinic operations and implement best practices workflows and work with leadership, staff, and stakeholders to develop and implement policies where needed.
Oversee and improve clinical quality measures, including personnel training program, program metrics, and screening and assessment processes.

Education:
Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant healthcare field
Experience:
Must have at least 2 years experience in mental health or crisis services field
Must have at least 2 years supervisory or management experience in a mental health or clinical setting
Licensures:
Valid Texas Board Certification in an APP designation (Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant or similar)
Valid Texas Clinical Licensure LPC-S, LCSW, or similar
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the Texas Administrative Codes for mobile crisis intervention services
Familiarity with the design and operation of Crisis Intervention
Knowledge in mental health and crisis diversion
Knowledge of local multi-casualty plans
Familiarity with dispatch and communications operations

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
Full Time | Regular
This is a regular, full time position. Work hours are typically on call and as needed.
Work Environment:
Work environment is typically in an office environment but may require occasional travel within Harris County and interaction with the community at public events.
Physical Demands:
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
