What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Supervision Bilingual Technician - Receptionist position at Harris County?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain reception area. Greet customers. Ensure reception area is kept clean and magazines are organized. Ensure that clients sitting in the reception area conduct themselves appropriately.
- Manage a caseload by updating court dates, checking on warrants, verifying status of incarcerated clients, communicating with the assigned officer on cases, and transferring cases to the officer.
- Screen incoming client calls according to departmental procedures in a courteous manner. When necessary, refer clients to other agencies from the referral list provided. Route other calls to the appropriate staff personnel in a timely manner.
- Open Community Supervision files in hard copy and on the computer. Keep statistical data on new cases.
- File reports using the county electronic e-filing system.
- Document all actions taken regarding a case accurately and completely in the case management system and on the log sheets when appropriate.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution
- Two (2) years customer service, receptionist, or secretarial experience in an office setting required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bilingual English and Spanish Required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word for Windows and Windows 2000/XP required.
- Strong communication and telephone skills.

- Experience handling multi line phones.
- Customer Service in an office setting.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
Regular Full-time
Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
With a half-hour for lunch.
There is a three (3) month mandatory probationary period.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
