What you will do at Precinct One
As a working Custodian Lead Assistant Supervisor, you are responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient supervision of custodial staff in the operation of assigned initiatives, projects, departments, or service area. Ensure routine maintenance of various Precinct One buildings, offices, and facilities is completed efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day custodial care of buildings, offices, and facilities at assigned locations according to established schedules.
- Plan and monitor employee work schedules, work duties, training, safety, payroll, and performance.
- Maintain records, reports, purchase requests, and ensure that rules and regulations are understood and followed
- Assist with talent acquisition and performance management within assigned department
- Resolve issues and remove roadblocks and bottleneck for employees
- Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring to Precinct One
Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Experience:
Five (5) years of relevant custodial experience
Licensure:
- Valid driver’s license (Texas upon hire)
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, protocols and processes of assigned areas
- Skilled at supervisory best practices
- Ability to motivate and lead teams
- Knowledge in the methods of modern cleaning, materials and equipment used in custodial work

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- This job may operate in an indoor professional office environment and/or outdoor environment; subject to regular exposure to dust, fumes, and odors
- Exposure to various weather conditions, temperature variations, loud noises and possible dangerous chemicals could be encountered depending on area assigned.
- This may be a physically active position depending on area assigned which requires exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

About Precinct One
There are four precincts in Harris County. The four elected commissioners, along with an elected county judge, serve as members of the Harris County Commissioners Court, the administrative head of the county’s government.
With approximately 1.1 million residents, Harris County Precinct One is a diverse, urban precinct that covers 363 square miles. Precinct One’s multi-racial, multi-ethnic population is roughly 39 percent African American, 37 percent Latino, 18 percent Anglo, 5 percent Asian, and 1 percent other.
Precinct One, which includes 876 miles of road, stretches south to Brazoria County and reaches into eastern and northern sections of Harris County. The Precinct’s territory includes a large section of Downtown Houston, including the Downtown Harris County Courthouse Complex, Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park, and the BBVA Compass Stadium. Other notable landmarks include the 263-acre NRG Park Complex and the renowned Texas Medical Center.
