What are the responsibilities and job description for the Election Technician position at Harris County?
The Election Technician is responsible in supporting all aspects of the Election Technology Center operations. Must interact with various election officials and provide accurate and timely support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares election equipment and supplies for elections.
- Drives vehicles for the purpose of transporting election equipment to designated sites.
- Maintains accurate records while utilizing pertinent software applications.
- Receives and logs election equipment after election cycles.
- Maintains warehouse facility as assigned for the purpose of keeping orderly, clean and safe conditions.
- Responds to inquiries of staff by providing information and/or direction regarding the status of orders.
- Operates all equipment in office, computer, printed, copy machine, fax machine, scanner, etc.

- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- Previous experience working in a team.
- Must have a valid driver license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work under stress and maintain high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work overtime without prior notification and work flexible hours as required.

- Monday – Friday | 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
- Overtime hours as required.
- Overtime and alternative scheduling is likely during scheduled voting.
- $19.00 Hourly
- Based on 26 Pay Periods

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This job operates in a professional warehouse environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filling cabinets, forklifts, pallet jacks, power tools.
- Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Stand for long periods.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
