What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elections Supply Manager position at Harris County?
Harris County seeks an Elections Supply Manager to coordinate, lead, and co-manage the Elections Supply Department. The Elections Supply Manager will work to supply all Harris County election events and ensure voting is fair, easy, efficient, secure, and accessible for all eligible Harris County voters consistent with the Texas Election Code and Federal regulations. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.
- The main objectives are accomplished by managing the volume forecasting of voting stock, sales ordering for the replenishment of the stock that has been issued and overseeing the building of the Early Voting and Election Day supply boxes.
- In conjunction with partner departments oversee and manage the Early Voting Supply Pickup and Supply Drop-off processes for election judges.
- Establish methodology and spreadsheet inventory processes for the maintenance of correct records to keep control of all in-house inventory.
- Keeps track of logistics and department’s inventory, analyze month-over-month operational performance of the workforce, and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external vendors and suppliers to ensure that all operations (e.g., shipping, printing, deliveries, etc.) and received materials and supplies meet quality standards and negotiate with the external vendors for the most cost-effective marketplace options
- Provide authoritative interpretations and guidance to voting management officials and other supply team personnel.
- Establish training protocols and monitors the training and employee development processes such that they will ensure maximum employee engagement.
- In conjunction with other internal departments communicate scheduled key readiness/completion dates for supplies and voting documents and election form boxes that are shipped out to all respective polling places.
- Schedule and hold bi-monthly staff meeting for the purpose of briefing staff on supply chain issues, performance deadlines, staff recognition, and training.

Education and Experience:- Associates degree in a directly related field from an accredited college or university.
- Six (6) years of directly related work experience in supply and inventory maintenance.
- Two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
Licensure:
- Valid Driver's License.

- Ability to work long hours during election cycles. Hours can be up to 18 hours.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
- Regular Full-time
- Monday – Friday | 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
- Overtime hours as required.
- $31.00 - $36.00 Hourly
- Depends on Qualifications
- Based on 26 Pay Periods
