Executive Management Assistant Position Overview:
Under general direction, is responsible for providing a high level of professional support to the Office of the Engineer. Serves as a liaison between executive office and multiple assigned divisions in the analysis, monitoring, and tracking of department's service delivery and special projects. Will interact with division managers, executive leadership, and various county departments. May exercise functional supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level professional support to executive leadership team.
- Oversee coordination of high-profile special projects and assignments as required, including researching, writing, providing analysis, managing deadlines, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Coordinate analysis and development of final recommendations for staff reports and distributes to executive leadership, division managers, and other county stakeholders.
- Independently research and prepare reports on operations and policy matters, including providing recommendations on alternative methods.
- Track and edit commissioners court agenda items for assigned divisions.
- Independently compose correspondence, reports, and memoranda for executive leadership.
- Provide office support as required, including scheduling and correspondence.
- Engage, as assigned, in the annual budget development process for
assigned divisions. - Perform related duties and fulfills responsibilities, as required.
- Uphold confidentiality by adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies regarding data protection and privacy.

Education:
- Bachelor from an accredited college or university
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience as an executive assistant or similar role.
- A valid driver’s license (Texas upon hire), and a good driving record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of public administration practices and local government
- issues.
- Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques,
- and methodologies.
- Knowledge of presentation requirements and methods.
- Knowledge of research techniques, methods, and procedures.
- Skill in utilizing personal computers and associated software
- applications in the completion of assignments.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Ability to coordinate and review the work of professional, technical,
- and clerical personnel.
- Ability to understand assigned departments' operations, services, and
- activities.
- Ability to interpret, explain and apply county and department policies
- and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- with those contacted in the course of work including county officials and
- the public.
- Ability to perform all the physical requirements of the position,

Education:
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as an executive assistant or similar role (preferred)
- Experience as a paralegal (preferred)
Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:
- Full-Time | Regular | 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday | 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload.
- Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods
- Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting, or operations command center environment, but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).
- This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs., frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.
