The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory records, ensuring compliance with county policies and procedures, and providing support to various departments. This role involves procurement, storage, tracking, and distribution of inventory items, as well as assisting with accounts payable and purchasing functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Account for, record, track, transfer and manage assets received directly from vendors, the purchasing agent or interoffice; Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy.
- Verify, collect, and report all divisions assets to the Auditors office as part of the yearly Capital Asset Audit
- Support departments by gathering all required documentation for capital asset inspections and tagging
- Coordinate and lead the delivery and pickup of surplus items to or from county warehouse or in-house.
- Maintain cooperative working relationship with vendors and internal departments.
- Complete and provided detailed reports on inventory expenses.
- Ensure compliance with county and departmental inventory policies and procedure

Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution
- Minumum of two (2) years of clerical or inventory management, distribution, or related field.
- Ability to apply the principles and skills of inventory management, computer processing, electronic database management, inventory/data quality control, simple data tabulation and reporting.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as cope with stress of highly visible position
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word and Excel
- Self-motivated with ability to multitask.
- Good oral and written communication skills

- This is largely a sedentary role; however, some lifting is required. This would require the ability to lift files of up to 50 lbs, transport equipment to events and back to the office, pulling carts, setting up props, bend or stand as necessary. Must be prepared to be outside despite the heat, rain or cold for each groundbreaking, ribbon cutting or unveiling event.

Salary : $47,840 - $52,000
