What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pesticide Records Coordinator position at Harris County?
Conducts post-assessments of larviciding and adulticiding pesticide applications daily and enters findings into the Mosquito and Vector Control Division (MVCD) database. Inputs Ultra Low Volume (ULV), Larvicide, and Environmental Assessment data into the Harris County Pesticide Application database and ensures accuracy of data. Assist Field Operations Manager in maintaining ULV database and ensures accuracy of data. Assists with ULV applications at night as required. Performs larvae inspections during periods of low disease risk. May assist other Mosquito Vector Control sections as required. Other duties as assigned including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.

High school diploma or equivalent
At least (4) four years of stable employment history Computer Proficiency: Basic skills using Microsoft Office Suite
Valid Driver’s License (Texas upon hire) along with a good driving record required for daily surveillance and collection of species Must acquire a Texas Certified Pesticide Noncommercial Political Applicator’s License within one year of employment
Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing the application of pesticides Ability to troubleshoot issues and recommend appropriate solutions Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to develop, implement, improve, and learn new techniques pertinent to field objectives Ability to work well with a variety of personalities and handle stress generated by multiple projects and deadlines Ability to read/comprehend road maps Ability to comprehend chemical labels and be willing to work with control-related chemicals (e.g., insecticides)

This is a Full Time - Regular Position 40 hours per week The incumbent may be required to work long and irregular hours in circumstances of public health or infectious disease emergency or potential for such including weekends and holidays
Office: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Field: Field work requires driving a county vehicle for ULV applications and Post Assessment Evaluations in a variety of urban and natural environments
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs., be in good physical health, able to tolerate high heat and humidity for extended periods of time outdoors while working in a variety of urban and natural environments.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required to accomplish the mission of MVCD.
