What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Director position at Harris County?
The Child Protective Services Prevention & Rehabilitation Court (CPRC) Program Director is responsible forcoordinating all court and stakeholder activities of the program to ensure continuum of care. This position ensuresthat wraparound-type support services are extended to all incoming program participants; including, but not limited to clinical oversight, recovery support, and referrals to stakeholder/partners.
About the Administrative Office for the District Courts (DCA):
The DCA supports 61 elected State District Court Judges in Civil, Criminal, Family and Juvenile Divisions, and an additional 20 Associate Judges, and has 211 support staff. All Harris County State District Courts are in downtown Houston.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with the CPRC team, partners, program staff and Presiding Judge to monitor and ensure adherence to the program guidelines.
- Serving as the primary contact to the Court, all partners and stakeholders.
- Assisting CPS with identifying and educating potential program participants.
- Completing and submitting financial and progress reports to the grantor as required.
- Budget oversight, including monitoring program spending and adherence to budget parameters.
- Data collection, program evaluation, reporting on key performance indicators (KPI), and documenting progress toward program goals.
- Tracking participant progress by entering notes into the program’s data management system(s).
- Coordinating the planning and facilitation of team and stakeholder meetings.
- Monitoring all communications from the Presiding Judge, grantor, Office of County Administration – Grants & Partnerships and external partners to ensure timely responsiveness and effective information exchange.
- Attending and participating in CPRC staffing meeting and ensuring that program decisions are rooted in best practices.
- Providing leadership in developing and maintaining positive relationships with partner agencies, internal staff and the County’s grants management team.
- Exploring and pursuing program sustainability efforts, including internal County resources, community resources and alternate funding sources.
- In cooperation with the DCA Administrative Services Manager, reviewing contracts and provider invoices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Performing such duties as directed by the Presiding Judge of the CPRC and the Harris County District Courts Administration.

Education and Experience:
Group A
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three (3) years working directly with the Juvenile and Family Divisions of the District Courts
OR
Group B
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as a Court Coordinator in the Family or Juvenile Divisions of the District Courts, or with Specialty Courts within those Divisions.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in court operations; specifically, with specialty courts within the Family and/or Juvenile Divisions of the District Court.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Monitoring and organizing information and data.
- Reporting and grant writing.
- Budget management.
- Generating reports from various case management applications.
- Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Use the following applications: JWEB, DEEDS, JIMS2 and justice application reports.
- Work with limited supervision.

Grant-funded Full-time
Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
However, the ideal candidate must possess the ability to work flexible hours as required.
Salary:
$65,561.00 Annually

- Based on 26 Pay Periods

Reporting Relationships:
- Reports to: The Presiding Judge of the CPRC and the Harris County District Courts Administration
- Supervises: Is responsible for the daily operations of the CPRC.
Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen.
