Position Overview:
Under the Public Health Preparedness and Response Division (PHPRD), and the supervision of the Logistics Supervisor, the PHPR Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory to support disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. Responsibilities include tracking and auditing inventory, resource readiness, logistical planning, warehouse management, and movement of resources. During emergency activations, the PHPR Specialist will coordinate logistic operations including inventory tracking, replenishment, and coordination of resource distribution from public health warehouses and operational sites.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create, implement, and support an electronic inventory tracking system for the entirety of the equipment and supplies at the public health preparedness and response warehouse.
- Work with the Warehouse Logistics Coordinator for organizing, maintaining, and reordering all inventory. Develop and implement system for resource ready-deployment and tracking.
- Responsible for the oversight of the life cycle of products, develop and implement tracking and reporting system for life-cycle maintenance and resource renewal, and use tracking tools - including temperature logs - according to established policies and procedures.
- Create, implement, and support tactical processes to support all OPHPR exercises and real-world events, implement inventory and logistics support tools, and ensure data collected is clean and viable for analysis.
- Develop, implement and support transportation procedures for use of materials by internal/external partners
- Other duties as assigned include but not limited to, acting in a lead logistical role during public health emergency events, developing logistical plans, and supporting all-hazard public health emergency preparedness training and exercises.

Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
- At least one (1) year of experience in logistics, operations, supply chain management, warehouse management, organizing supplies in ways that maximize efficiency.

Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; Other days and hours as necessary.
Work Environment:
- This job operates in a professional office environment, commercial warehouse space, and the outside environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. Other work-related areas are the use of a fork lift, trailer towing, small hand tools, and light maintenance.
Physical Demands:
- This position will require work during stressful emergencies. Must be able to speak in a manner easily understood by the average person. Must be able to perform duties assigned during emergencies competently. The incumbent must be able to lift 15 lbs., walk up two flights of stairs, work in the field/community when required, and occasionally move objects weighing up to 20 lbs., and sometimes, but rarely, up to 50 lbs.
