Harris County Precinct 4 is seeking a Road Maintenance Intern. This position follows instructions and performs various manual tasks crucial to maintaining and repairing Precinct 4 roads, bridges, and easements.

- Cleans ditches and culverts of brush, trash, and rubbish.
- Trims overhanging branches and bushes.
- Patches potholes with asphalt and repairs concrete sidewalks.
- Picks up trash along roadways and rights-of-way.
- Uses shovels, rakes, weed eaters, and other equipment.

- Applicants m ust have completed at least one (1) year of high school education.
- Must have a valid ID.
- Needs reliable transportation to and from work.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers,
- The intern, frequently, is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
- They must also talk or hear.
- This position must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
