- Learning all election content outlined in the Help Desk manual.
- Providing excellent customer service to the election workers of Harris County.
- Helping other election departments as needed.
- Must be able to multitask (speak on phone, type on computer, read from manual)
- Arriving on time for shift.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
- One (1) year customer service experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to work under stress and able to work without direct supervision.
- Knowledgeable of the general operations of an election and the Harris County website.
- Be professional and have good interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office suite, can type 30 words per minute, and be willing to learn new computer programs and applications.
- Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and possess excellent communication skills.
- Understands and can explain the ePollBook application and the voting process.
- Adherence to policies and laws are a must.
- Provided written resources encapsulate both Harris County and Secretary of State policies and laws.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
Temp Full-time | Position End Date: 05/10/2025
- Days and hours of work are cover every day of the week, though individuals are normally not scheduled to work more than 5 days a week.
- 30-35 hours per week with the possibility of 40-50 hours in high-need time periods.
- Work week = 5 days a week, must be able to work weekends.
- During election: shifts range from 8 - 10 hours.
- Three mandatory days in the election, shifts will range from 14 - 20 hours.
Salary:
$17.00 Hourly
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Temporary position. (seated at desk in warehouse)
This job is primarily a sedentary role, walking and standing are required only occasionally.
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
