The Harris County Clerk’s Election Department Outreach Division is responsible for effectively managing external relationships with community members and community stakeholders. By developing effective and inclusive outreach, organizing, mobilization, and information sharing strategies, we aim to improve civic engagement and empower communities by educating voters about elections and the voting process.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of community organizing or relations experience.
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university and
- Three (3) years of community organizing or relations experience.
- Must be qualified to become a Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar (VDVR) to register people to vote in elections.
- Must have a driver license and reliable transportation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Ability to work well on a team to accomplish goals.
- Ability to work on multiple projects with clear deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to work with a diverse range of groups, including all communities, ethnicities, religions, and cultural and social groups/backgrounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to meet goals and reporting requirements on a weekly basis under strict deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

- Overtime hours are mandatory during election cycle.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- $32.66 Hourly
- Based on 26 Pay Periods

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Traveling with outreach packets, repeatedly lift and carry 30 lb demo voting equipment unassisted, ability to stand and walk for hours at a time, and other necessary materials.
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets.
