Job Description :
The Sr. Systems Engineering Specialist is responsible for working closely with the customer to comprehensively design and implement new system functionality. They will write requirements, support development, perform integration testing of new or modified products in a Systems Integration Laboratory and on airborne and ground-based platforms. The Sr. Systems Engineering Specialist will verify and validate new baseline functionality while ensuring legacy functionality continues to work as intended.
Essential Functions :
- Interface with other Systems Engineers, Agile Development Engineering, Flight Line Test, Product Development, and Project Engineering to understand new baseline functionality.
- Work closely with L3Harris Internal Research and Development (IR&D) developing proprietary ELINT technology and capabilities.
- Follow existing standards to document system testing status and anomalies with system hardware and software and verify subsequent anomaly fixes.
- Interface with the customer to ensure their satisfaction with system performance.
- Work with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work.
- Provide regular status updates for ongoing work efforts to management and the customer.
- Utilize several online tools including Jira, DOORS, and Confluence.
- Read and interpret block diagrams, wire diagrams, mechanical drawings and circuit schematics.
- Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
- RF design familiarity.
- Make accurate measurements with VNAs, Spec. Analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Understanding of RF communication systems, modulations, encoding and multiplexing.
- Understanding of single and multi-ship direction finding techniques including technology trade-offs, Watson-Watt, doppler, correlative interferometry, TDOA, and FOA.
- Read, interpret data, s2p, antenna patterns, tuner coherency, tuner sfdr, enob.
- Perform RF cascade analysis.
- Interferometry.
- Basic network familiarity and awareness of the OSI model.
- Programming (ideally significant MATLAB experience, exposure to C and C and possibly Python).
- Ability to travel up to 20%. (Domestic & International)
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
