Financial Planning & Analysis Associate

The Financial Planning & Analysis Associate will work with the CFO to establish and define key performance indicators (KPIs) based on the senior management’s strategic plan that must be managed to drive the corporation’s short- and long-term financial goals.

Schedule: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday are regular business hours.

Location: Our Downtown Chicago office on W. Jackson Blvd. May be able to work from home one day a week.

Salary: $85,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually, dependent on experience.

DAY TO DAY

• Maintain Monthly, Quarterly and Annual financial reporting requirements for both internal and external stakeholders; maintain compliance with all financial reporting deadlines.
• Support the annual audit and preparation of annual tax returns.
• Work with the CFO to establish and define key performance indicators (KPIs) based on the senior management’s strategic plan that must be managed to drive the corporation’s short- and long-term financial goals. Manage the processes for validating and accumulating the necessary information to report the KPIs throughout the organization.
• Manage the monthly preparation and distribution of client-level P&Ls and lead efforts to streamline and improve accuracy over monthly customer-level reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to the Board of Directors (incl. private equity investors, senior and subordinated lenders).
• Co-lead the preparation of the Company’s annual budget and monitor actual results against the budget as part of the monthly reporting process.
• Prepare forecasts, as necessary, for senior management and other key stakeholders, which will include the analysis, forecasting, and modeling of (i) labor costs and related spend; (ii) direct costs of sales (working in conjunction with the Company’s Business Intelligence dept.); (iii) SG&A expenses; and, (iv) short- and long-term cash requirements.
• Work across departments to develop analytical support for capital investments (i.e., ROI analysis for technology strategies), and create models to track ROI post-investment.
• Support new customer acquisition, by modeling pricing (bidding) strategies, and produce periodic (monthly/quarterly) reports for management, in conjunction with the document (bid & proposal) production team.
• Prepare rolling cash-flow forecasts to assist Management with maximizing cash-flow from operations; prepare daily cash status reports to Senior Management.
• Manage Treasury relationships with banks and be the primary contact for any banking issues and banking authorizations.
• Assist with annual preparation of Federal and State tax returns, and manage the filing of sales tax, property tax and annual registrations for the Company.
• Oversee filings of unclaimed property.
• Complete analysis and process improvement projects as required by the CFO and other members of Senior leadership.

WHAT YOU MUST POSSESS

Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2 years of work experience, ideally in public accounting, financial reporting (in a P.E.-backed environment) or financial analyst roles
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Strong analytical, modeling and written communication skills
• Must be able to build financial models that include comprehensive Income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and compliance covenants
• A strong work ethic and attention to detail are a must. Ability to work both independently and with a team is critical as well.

Nice To Have:

• CPA preferred
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, SAP, and other database and analytical applications and tools a plus
• Experience working in an ARM industry is a strong plus
