What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial-Swing shift position at Harris Ranch Beef Co?
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment within the production plant. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks and ensuring that all areas meet health and safety standards, while also supporting the efficient operation of the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in production areas, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
- Disinfect surfaces, equipment, and machinery as needed, following established protocols to ensure hygiene and safety.
- Clean and sanitize break rooms, kitchenettes, and dining areas, including dishwashing and waste disposal.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with plant policies and environmental regulations.
- Maintain waste and recycling bins, ensuring they are emptied regularly and kept clean.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and materials as needed.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs for cleaning equipment to the Facilities Manager.
- Adhere to all safety and hygiene standards, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Follow plant-specific protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any unsafe conditions or hazards to the Facilities Manager immediately.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Support other departments as needed, including setting up for events or meetings within the plant.
Experience: Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping, preferably in an industrial or production environment.
Skills:Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Ability to follow safety instructions and handle cleaning materials responsibly.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry cleaning supplies, stand, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
Work Environment: The role involves working in various areas of the production plant, which may include exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
